What would be a good dog breed to protect me while jogging?

A doberman would be a great choice. They get really attached to their people though (that's why they're called velcro dogs) so be sure you're commited to keeping the dog for its entire life (could be 15 years). They are very smart and have great tempermants when raised properly, but they do look intimidating and they don't warm up to strangers easily, so that makes them good guard dogs and could be a great deterent to anyone who tries to mess with you while jogging. They need lots of exercise so jogging with one would be great for the dog. These dogs have a bad reputation because so many people don't know how to properly train and socialize them or misuse their guarding instincts. But they really are great dogs.
