Why Are Celebrity Females' Troubles So Scrutinized In The Media, Whereas Men Don't Get As Much Attention?

In spite of what the first answerer said, the media are largely controlled by right-wing leaning corporations. Since they are mainly run by men, it's only natural they are more interested in female celebrities. It has nothing to do with whether women read more magazines or gossip columns. It's that the men running these news corporations have more interest in female celebrities than male celebrities. That's why the male celebrities seem to get free pes when they screw up while the women get hounded and every little detail of their personal lives gets put up for public view.
