How long does it take for budgies to breed?

I have a pair of budgies i just got i have had birds my entire life i have bred finches canaries ( small birds) before im now getting into budgies and this pair is ready they are 1 1/2 yr old both male and female i placed them in the cage and the male immediatly started to try to mate with her if they mated how long would it be untill i see eggs? please provide me with some good breeding tips.
